The French Room, Louis XV in Cotroceni National Museum, Bucharest


The French apartmentis placed on the north-east side and it is made up of an elegant drawing-room in Louis XV style and 2 bedrooms, one in an English Rococo style and in a Louis XVI style. It used to be King Ferdinand's apartment.

In 1893, the Cotroceni Palace was founded by Şerban Cantacuzino. It was home to King Carol I, who made important changes in its architecture. In the late 19th century, a partial demolition of the palace was ordered, which would be later reconstructed by French architect Paul Gottereau. In 1977, the palace was transformed into a guesthouse, and also ordered to build an additional wing.
