La Porte de Paris and l'Hôtel de Ville, Lille

The Porte de Paris is one of Lille's three city gates, built by Simon Vollant between 1685 and 1692.

Hôtel de Ville was built between 1924 and 1932, its style combines local traditions with new materials like the concrete used for the structure and decoration.  The belfry, which was built between 1929 and 1931 and opened in 1932, was the first French building over 330 feet to be made entirely of reinforced concrete. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.
