Herceg Novi was known as Castelnuovo ("New castle" in Italian) between 1420 and 1797 when was part of the Albania Veneta of the Republic of Venice. Herceg Novi has had a turbulent past, despite being one of the youngest settlements on the Adriatic.

Mostar
Mostar is situated on the Neretva River and is the 5th largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was named after the bridge keepers - mostari who in the medieval times guarded the Stari Most (Old Bridge) over Neretva River.
Gradačac Castle
Has a fort with 18-meter high walls built between 1765 and 1821 and 21-meter high watchtower built in 1824. It was finished in the 19th century and has great historical importance for the Bosnian people.
Tuzla
The city of Tuzla is the third largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its name means in Turkish salt mine and refers to the extensive salt deposits found underneath the city. Tuzla has Europe's only salt lake as part of its central park.
Srebrenik Fortress
Is Bosnia's best-preserved castle dating from 1333. It was once considerably larger but some of its walls and structure has since collapsed.
